After the period known as the 'Five-Year Gap' that followed the Magic Wars, a new Legion team mysteriously appeared, known as 'Batch SW6' because they were believed to be Dominator-created clones of the original team. They were later revealed to be time-paradox duplicates of the original Legion, rather than clones, and were eventually accepted as legitimate Legionnaires.
The SW6 Chameleon Boy wore his original costume. While taking part in a move against the Dominators occupying Earth, he and the SW6 Karate Kid and Princess Projectra were killed in an explosion.
Not long after this, the original Chameleon Boy joined the SW6 team as mentor, and changed his codename to Chameleon.
