History

Mick Yardreigh, of Earth, had a history as a super-villain member of groups like the Taurus Gang and the Legion of Super-Villains.

When Chemical Kid of the Legion Academy returned home to the planet Phlon, the Legion entered his family home only to find it in ruins. Inside, the Taurus Gang, led by Black Mace, were threatening the family and smashing the place apart. A battle ensued in order to rescue Chemical Kid's dad, but Chemical Kid's powers mysteriously fail and the other heroes quickly fell.

A new recruit to the gang, Alchemical Girl, also from Phlon, was draining their powers. Glorith unexpectedly got an extra surge of power from her mentor Black Witch. The tables were quickly turned, and the heroes subdued their opponents. Chemical Kid confronted his father, wondering why he gave away the secrets of the 'gene mod' that granted his son's powers. The answer was gambling debts, and the Black Mace wanted to create a whole 'gene mod gang', starting with the creation of Alchemical Girl.
